This month's gathering was hosted just before New Zealand's August 2021 lockdown. Among the variety of dishes that our hosts chose to prepare and share, was also a selection of gluten free and vegetarian friendly options for their dinner gathering for six in Marlborough.
A variety of delicious locally sourced nibbles adorn this grazing platter. Easy to assemble, it includes stuffed green olives, a selection of cheeses, vegetables crisps, cherry tomatoes, a home made Beurre Bosc pear paste and home made gluten free Turkish bread. Perfect as an appetiser before the main meal.

Slow Cooked Beef Cheeks on Creamy Polenta
These beef cheeks, flavoured with red wine and spices were cooked long and slow until juicy and tender. Served on an unctuously creamy polenta they made for a perfect winter meal. Find the recipe in our Recipes section to try it for yourself.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts
These Brussels sprouts were oven roasted with butter, maple syrup and fresh thyme and garnished with micro greens. They made for a superb accompaniment to the rest of the meal.
Nigella Lawson's Clementine Cake
Luscious flavours of clementines and almonds combine in this flourless cake, topped with a velvety marscapone cream and sprinkled with pistachios. A little taste of the Middle East in Blenheim!

This month’s gathering was in the beautiful wine region of Marlborough. The area is well known for producing some of the most beloved wines in New Zealand, in particular Sauvignon Blancs which have been favourably compared to those produced in France’s Loire Valley. Our Hosts chose wines from local wineries, notably Saint Clair Family Estate, a family owned winery who make superb award winning wines. The selection for this meal included their Hawke’s Bay Premium Merlot and their Pioneer Block Pinot Noir as well as a Pioneer Block Chardonnay. Our Products page has a link to the winery’s online shop which offers a selection to purchase. Also served at this gathering was a lovely Methode Traditionelle from No.1 Family Estate and a Merlot from Brancott Estat
Freshly brewed coffee is always a satisfactory end to a meal. CPR Coffee, which our hosts chose to serve, is another local family owned business that produces premium roasted coffee in a variety of blends to suit every coffee lover’s palate. Our Hosts chose to prepare the coffee for this dinner using the Bodum Santos Vacuum Cafetiere, which uses the siphon method to extract the coffee, preserving its precious oils for maximum flavour. A bonus to using this method is the elegant glass construction of the cafetiere!
